| LIVABILITY SUMMIT |
|
Valley Forward will host its seventh annual Livability Summit on April 22, 2010. This prominent Earth Day event is a conference on building healthy communities and targets the Valley’s business and political leadership while also featuring a component for students. Our agenda promotes integrated solutions for sustainable development, focusing on such issues as land use and open space planning, water management, renewable energy and transportation/air quality. These topics are addressed through local panels, exhibits and nationally renowned keynote speakers.
The 2009 roster included keynotes by Actor and Environmental Activist, Ed Begley Jr., and Consumer Advocate, Presidential Candidate and author of Green Party Pioneer, Ralph Nader. Two panel presentations were featured focused on “Becoming the Solar Capitol of the World” and “Sustainable Capitalism – Growing Healthy Livable Communities” that were moderated by attorney Grady Gammage, Jr., and included expert panelists from American Solar Electric, Solon Solar, Local First, PepsiCo, ASU GIOS, City of Phoenix, City of Portland and Intrago Corporation.
